The Sword Dance Convention
Illuminate Dance Project is excited to host The Sword Dance Convention this season! This one-day, Christ-centered event combines high-quality dance training with powerful spiritual encouragement, challenging dancers to grow in both their technique and their faith.
Dancers will participate in classes taught by experienced instructors while being encouraged to use their gifts to glorify God, build confidence, and connect with other dancers who share their faith.
Whether you're new to dance or an experienced performer, The Sword is designed to inspire, equip, and encourage dancers of all levels.

MEET THE
DIRECTOR
HELLO! I am Georgia Walker is the owner and head instructor at IDP. I grew up in a small town, Bronson, IA and attended Morningside College; graduating in 2013. I started dancing as a very shy five year old, but quickly fell in love with tap. I have a BS in Business Administration with an Accounting emphasis and a Dance Minor. Throughout college, I competed on the Morningside College dance team and taught at Soccer's Performing Art's Studio in Sioux City, IA. After college, I met my husband, Tyler, and we married in 2016. We lived in Minnesota for two years. I opened my first dance studio, Georgia's Dance Elements. But shortly after our daughter, Quinn, was born, we had a calling to move back to Iowa (2018). That is when I reached out to Danielle at Sheldon Dance Studio for an open instructor position. Praise God for the amazing blessing Danielle and the SDS staff were to my family and I.In fall 2020, shortly after COVID pandemic I felt my heart pull towards growing my faith. I made the goal to read the entire Bible, front to back. After I achieved that goal, I had an idea to create a Christ-centered dance studio. My goal would be to instill a strong foundation and love for dance while keeping strong Christian values and demonstrating the love of Jesus to all students, parents, staff, and community. It was all in God's great timing because that summer I purchase Sheldon Dance Studio from Danielle. I am forever grateful the opportunity Danielle gave me and for God putting her family in my life. Now here we are! Growing our dancers and community in a way that honors God and demonstrates love for others!
